Bio
I am a native of Lexington, Kentucky, and am in my 15th year of the practice of law. After graduating from high school in Lexington, I enlisted in the Marine Corps, where I served as a military policeman for four years. In 1987, after completing my tour of duty, I was honorably discharged and returned to Lexington.
After returning to Lexington, I attended and graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in Police Administration. After graduating from EKU, I attended the University of Louisville School of Law. I graduated in 1995 and began practicing law that same year. While my intention in pursuing my education was to pursue a career in law enforcement, I soon found out that my real passion was in the law. After graduating from UL and passing the bar, I started my own practice in Louisville, where I concentrated primarily in criminal defense litigation. After seven years of practice, I was offered the opportunity to become general counsel for a large automobile group in Louisville and maintained that position for approximately five years.
After 11 years of practice in Louisville, my wife and I decided to move back to Lexington with our 3 children to be closer to family and to return to our roots. I opened my law office in Lexington in September 2006 and have enjoyed practicing in Fayette County as well as the surrounding counties.
My philosophy in practicing law is to treat all clients and their situations discreetly and offer the client a true assessment of their case. I do not like surprises and do everything in my power to avoid surprises for my clients. I work for you and take my duties as your attorney very seriously.
Bad things happen to good people. In 15 years of practice, I have seen this over and over again. Court and the litigation process is one of the most stressful things that a client and his family can experience. I understand that and work diligently to obtain the best outcome possible for you.
